Hot Shots

30th March - 7th April

7th April - 14th April

The two easter weeks are designated 'Hot Shot' weeks. There are always a number of youngsters from 10 - 17, principally english speaking, who are really good skiers and who find it very difficult to find ski buddies, coaching, or ski school classes at their level.

These two weeks are mainly for them, and in each of the Easter weeks there will be at least one class of youngsters who can ski blacks, steeps, deep snow, trees and so on pretty well. These are adventurous young skiers, and each lesson is split into some core skill work (doing exercises that are normally reserved for racers and trainee instructors) and a spot of more adventurous skiing.

Check out the final video of the second (stronger) week in 2011

In the last several years, we've skied Rachas, L'Echines de Chevres, La Grave, Le Grand Couloir, La Grande Pente, Les Posettes, Les Sapins, L'Y, Le Diable and many more runs both on and off piste. (check out the interactive piste map on www.les2alpes.com)

These groups are not closed to youngsters who do race training or who compete either on plastic or in the snowdomes, but most of the participants are not racers, and prefer off piste to race training. Occasionally one or more is keen to take in the Fleche race organised by the ESF each week, if all the class want to do it in lesson time (this can mean moving the times of lessons around). If only one wants to do it, then the parents are on their own! On several occasions we've been to La Grave and taken some parents who can ski well enough along as well.

During these weeks we get a good 'club' feeling going on with all the families getting to know each other and skiing together, or sharing 'baby sitting' (normally that means parents trying to keep up with the kids) duties.

As always, the maximum I can take in any one week is 12, and these weeks normally get booked up first, before even February half term.

The cost is the standard €195 per person per week for 6 x 2 hours

Week 30th March - 7th April now has 5 youngsters booked in, and therefore space for 3 more - all these youngsters have skied with me before and are pretty hot. The split will most likely be between the more adventurous and less adventurous!

Week 7th April - 14th April currently has 4 places available
