Cautious to Confident 2012

There will be 2 weeks of C2C in 2012. The main Club week will be 10th - 17th March, and there will be an additional week run concurrently with On2OFF from 28th Jan - 4th Feb. This will allow mixed ability couples to benefit from a suitable week for both of them.

C2C is a special week's course designed for the more nervous skier to build their confidence and progress their skiing. For many years I've specialised in confidence building, and particularly in older skiers who are unsuited to big group lessons with 'young gun' ski instructors or alongside many younger people. Such skiers are often made to feel inadequate, or that maybe skiing isn't for them, but this is not true.
The week is run in a very friendly and supportive 'club' atmosphere, with participants skiing together in small groups out of lesson time and helping each other out when required.

28th January - 4th February 2012

Participants will arrive on Saturday 28th January and depart of Saturday 4th February, and skiing and coaching will take place from Sunday 29th - Friday 3rd inclusive. As this week will run concurrently with the On2OFF week, I am hoping that it will appeal particularly to couples who may be unevenly matched with regard to skiing levels and confidence.

The package will include half board at a recently refurbished hotel right at the bottom of the slopes; coaching for 2 hours per day; video correction every evening; and liftpass. Travel arrangements should be made independently, but every effort is made to co-ordinate everyone's arrival mode and time. It may be possible for me to collect a maximum of 6 people from Grenoble train/bus station if necessary.

10th - 17th March 2012

Participants will arrive on Saturday 10th and depart on Saturday 17th and skiing and coaching will be from 11st -16th inclusive.

Travel arrangements should be made independently, but every effort is made to co-ordinate everyone's arrival mode and time. Each class will be a maximum of 4 people, and will receive 2 hours coaching daily. There will also be video correction in the evenings, and an apres ski get together at the Lutins bar.

I expect the classes to take the following form:

Class 3 - This class is either for people who can deal with blue runs but start to get nervous on reds, or for people who are still skiing 'old style' and need to update their technique to deal with modern equipment.

Class 2 - This class is for people who can do a basic parallel, but are not happy off an easy blue run and will have a tendency to stiffen up once out of their comfort zone.

Class 1 - This class is for slow improvers. Participants will be able to do snowplough turns and negotiate an easy blue run at slow speeds using snowplough turns and traverses.
